Casino Terms "T"

Table Games: A name used to reference all the games in a casino which are played on a table, ie: blackjack, poker, craps, roulette, etc.

Table Hopping: Refers to the action of a player moving from table to table in a casino.

Take The Odds: In the game of craps, a free odds bet as a right bettor that offers better than equal money on a winning bet.

Tell Play: The act of observing the dealer's body language to determine his hand.

Theme: On a slot machine, refers to the colour and overall imprinted design in the glass-front of the machine.

Third Base: In the game of blackjack, the last seat to the right of the dealer.

Three of a Kind: A hand containing three cards of the same denomination and two unmatched cards, such as K K K 3 6 or 6 6 6 K 9.

Three Reel Slots: Generally a higher player advantage than 5-Reel machines as the odds of a winning combination occurring is higher with less reels, however all payouts are determined by the RNG and the preset (payout percentage) for that machine. Payouts are generally less than those offered on 5-Reel machines.

Tie:

  1. In blackjack, a situation where both the player and dealer have the same hand total, also known as push or stand off.
  2. In the game of baccarat, an option on the table layout in which the customer can bet, the customer is wagering that the banker and player options will tie, an outcome that usually pays odds of 9:1.

Tiers Du Cylindre: A French term for a bet on numbers on the roulette wheel that are paired neighbors on the layout and is common in European casinos.

Toke: Another expression for tipping the dealer or a casino employee.

Top-Bottom Ticket: A keno ticket that is horizontally marked in the center with the object of the game to either catch or not to catch numbers on one half of the ticket.

Tough Player: An intelligent player who can make quick money against the casino.

True Odds: In the game of craps, refers to the chance (odds) that a given number will be rolled on any single roll of the dice.

Two Pairs: Two pairs of the same denomination cards such as 2 2 A A 5 or 6 6 10 10 Q.

Up Card: In the game of blackjack refers to the dealer's first dealt card which is placed face up.


Casino Terms "V"

Video Keno: The game keno is also played on a computer terminal similar to video poker using a RNG to pick the numbers.

Video Poker: Video poker is a casino game played on a computerized video display, similar size to a slot machine and based on five-card draw poker.

Voisins Du Zero: In the game of roulette, a French term for a bet on numbers on the roulette wheel that are neighboring the zero and is common in European casinos.
