Casino Terms "M"
Marker: A signed credit note or slip, (IOU) in which stipulates money owned by the player for the purpose of continuing or commencing a wager and is held by the casino until the marker is paid.
Maximum Credits: Every poker machine has a maximum credits button, to qualify for the big jackpots (payouts) it is recommended to play maximum credits.
Midnight: A bet that the number 12 will appear on the next roll.
Mini Baccarat: A scaled down version of Baccarat played on a smaller table and is staffed by one dealer and the pace is much faster. The layout of the table exactly the same, however the betting limits are somewhat smaller.
Money Plays: A term used by both dealer and player when declaring that a player has put money down but doesn't want the money changed into chips.
Multi Game Ticket: A keno ticket that is played for multiple games.
Myths: A belief or logic that has no real basis and many believe to be based on fact but is not true.
Casino Terms "N"
Natural:
- In the game of blackjack, a term used when the first two cards dealt total 21, also called Blackjack.
- In baccarat, if a players initial hand has a total of 8 or 9 this is referred to as a natural. In French the term for a 9 is La Grande and an 8 is La Petite.
- In the game of craps, a term used for a 7 or 11 that is thrown on the come out roll.
Negative Progression: Refers to various systems of wagering a player may use where they increase their bets after a loss.
Net Losses: The amount lost after deducting your original wager from your total winnings.
Net Winnings: The amount won after deducting your original wager from your total winnings.
North American Baccarat: A variation of baccarat that is played in the U.S., Australia and Canada, also known as Punto Banco, players may bet on the player or the banker.
Number Pool: Is the total range of numbers 1-80 from which a player selects the numbers they wish to wager on.
