Baccarat:

  1. The worst hand a player can have in Baccarat, a total of zero.
  2. Also the name of the game which is derived from the Italian word baccara, meaning zero.

Baccarat En Banque: In the game of baccarat, this is a variation of chemin de fer (which is played in European casinos), three hands are dealt to the player. Also referred to as deux tableau.

Ball: The roulette ball is a small plastic ball that is spun in the opposite direction of the wheels spin and when it lands in a number pocket determines a player’s wins or losses.

Balls: Number selection in keno is drawn by a mechanical device that extracts numbered plastic balls by blowing those balls into a tube.

Banco: A term used in baccarat meaning; 1) The Banker. 2) A term used by a player whose choice is to fade the entire bank bet in chemin de fer.

Banco Prime: A term used in baccarat when more than one player is calling banco and refers to the privilege of a player to the bank's right to fade the entire bank bet in chemin de fer.

Banker: In the game of baccarat, an option on the table layout in which the customer can bet, does not refer to casino (house) itself.

Bankroll: Refers to the available amount in which the player has to gamble.

Basic Strategy: Refers to a playing system for any given situation to minimize the house edge and without using any advanced techniques.

Bet: Also referred to as a wager, is used to describe the action of a player that risks an amount of money in any given game in hope of a favorable outcome.

Bet Amount: In the game of slots refers to an amount indicated on the machine as to how many credits are being played at any given time, generally from 1-10, however there are now machines that allow up to 200 credits to be gambled at one time.

Bet Max: In the game of slots refers to bet the maximum amount of credits at a time (varies for each machines), for each reel spin.

Bet One: In the game of slots refers to bet one machine credit at a time, for each reel spin.

Betting Limit: All casino games have an established minimum and maximum limit which can be wagered on one bet.

Betting Right: In the game of craps a bet that the dice will win on pass line and come bets.

Betting Wrong: In the game of craps a bet placed on don't pass line and don't come line is a bet that the dice won't win or pass.

Big 6: In the game of craps this is a bet that a 6 will be rolled before a 7 and pays even money.

Big 8: In the game of craps this is a bet that a 8 will be rolled before a 7 and pays even money.

Black Action: Refers to a wager that is made with a black $100 chip.

Black Bet: In the game of roulette a bet that the next winning number will be on the colour black. Pays even money.

Black Chip: A name used in reference to a $100 chip.

Blackjack:

  1. The name of the game, the strategy of which is to for the player to get closer than the dealer to the count of 21 without going over.
  2. A term used to describe a total of 21 on the initial two-card hand.

Blank Ticket: Refers to a keno ticket which has not yet been used.

Blower: In keno the blower is the device that blows air onto the balls to force the balls randomly into a tube and become the game results.

Board: A digital display board which scrolls the winning numbers for each keno game for all players to see.

Bonus: Refers to the additional amount above the normal payout amount, this is the bonus amount, somewhat similar to a jackpot; jackpots however are generally of a larger payout amount.

Bowl: In keno the bowl contains the numbered plastic balls whilst the blower is not on.

Box Cars: In the game of craps refers to two sixes (a roll of 12).

Boxman: The craps table supervisor who is seated behind the casino chips during play.

Box Numbers: In the game of craps the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 are call box numbers because they are in the boxes on the craps layout. The dealer will mark the point with a puck placed in the box on the table.

Bring Out: In the game of craps a term used by the stickman exhorting players to make certain bets in order to have the point come up on the dice.

Broadway: In baccarat refers to a container located located in the middle of the layout for the purpose of holding discarded cards.

Burn Card: A burn card or burning a card refers to the process in which a dealer, a the beginning of a new deck after it has been shuffled, takes a card from the top of the deck and either places it at the bottom of the deck or slides the card across the table and places it into the discard tray.

Bust: In blackjack a term used to describe a hand's value whether dealer or player, that exceeds 21, a loosing situation.

Buy Bets: In the game of craps a 5% commission is given to the house in order to be paid correct odds for a place bet. The buy bets on 4 and 10 allow the player to reduce the house edge from 6.67% to 4% on these bets.
